About an hour ago I had my appointment with my tattoo-artist :) After a month waiting on his list, I finally got my OWN design on my foot. It looks wonderful and I'm absolutely in love with it :D The design I drew is a little angel wing (long story why) and I wanted it since I were 16 on my body (3 years...). There you've got the background.
Now I got the problem to tell my parents. I know I should have told them earlier, but there was no good time to start about it >.> They know I want one someday (...Today hehe ^^') and aren't that strict in it. My mom dislikes it the most, my dad is more easy on it and claims he wanted a rose on his shoulder long ago.
Anyway, now I want your opinion on what to do... Should I tell them? Or keep it secret? And if I tell, how to begin?
For me my mom doesn't mind if I get a tattoo,s he even promised to pay for my first one. So it's harder for me to give advice. I wouldn't keep it from them. The best thing to do is just tell them. Start out with like a normal conversation and if they ask how things have been going casually put it out there. But since it's on your foot it'd probably be easy to hide.
:3 Well it is pretty much your body and they do not own it. If it is something you've wanted for a long time and really like you should probably tell them.
I'm safe for today... They didn't notice anything. Though I have this nagging feeling I should tell them (we don't have - any - secrets in our family). I want to too, though... HOW to begin about it? XD If I start like: ''Mom, Dad, I should tell you something-'' they'd probably think I'm: a. getting married b. did something stupid and got arrested c. pregnant
For some reason all my friends thought i would be the first one to get a tattoo because my parent's arent strict and aparently im the risky one in my group (big lie)
but if I were you, I would tell them. I mean if your old enough to get a tattoos, they cant really stop u. ur over 18 (or however old u have to be to get a tat) and its your body.
Of course like most parents, they are going to act like, "HOMG! WTH? WHY DID U GET A TATTOO?!" or they may act similiar or different... they still are being parents.
Im sure in time, they will be okay with you have a tat

Hehe, I kinda did do that with my Helix-piercing. I was 16 and had hid that thing for like 3 weeks until I was like: ''Look mom-''
They didn't appriciate it XD Though, they're indeed okay with it now and don't even look at it anymore. (just like you said Chibi ^^)
Thanks for your soothing and kind advices, guys :) I'm still gathering all of my courage to tell them. Day 2 is over now (evening here) and they still didn't noticed anything. The tat heals perfectly (it doesn't even itch!) and maybe I'll post a picture of it soon :)
EDIT: this is a picture of my design :) I put a mark over it to keep it from stealers >:)

Day 3 & 4: Parents still didn't notice A THING. Still... I walk around BARE foot in the mornings... Anyway, now it's Day 4 and the tattoo started to itch a little. Which is a good thing, it means it's healing well.
I think I'll wait until the tatt has healed perfectly. It'll give a better image haha
Day 5. Walked whole day on flipflops (with baggy pants) and they still didn't noticed a thing... What are they, BLIND? ...or they play a prank on me? Tatt itches a little, though with bare feet not as bad as with plastic covering it ^^
Day 6, sunny day. Walked again on flipflops the whole day. You might guess right they still didn't see it T.T No itch and it looks perfectly healed. (artist said linework would heal after a week or so, still no sunbathing and swimming for a month!). I think I'll tell them today or tomorrow... Wish me luck!
